On 2nd July 2026, our SHINE Camera Club students had a day they will never forget. They were invited by Kensington Palace to attend the Wimbledon Championships and meet Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales. The students spent the day as official "Press" photographers, completed with all-areas-access passes and their trusty Polaroid cameras. The highlight of the day came when The Princess of Wales sat down with the students, taking a genuine interest in their photography and asking them all about their experience. The children were thrilled and it was a moment of pure joy and pride for everyone involved.

The Prince and Princess of Wales later shared the visit on their official Instagram, writing: "A pleasure to spend time with the Shine Camera Club at Wimbledon after your time capturing moments around the grounds."

The timing made it all the more special. This year marks five years of Shine Camera Club, organised and run by our team member Cindy Sasha, and this royal celebration was the perfect way to mark such a milestone.

Adding to the magic, the students' photography was later featured on The Prince and Princess of Wales' Instagram for World Photography Day, with the caption: "Celebrating the brilliant work of Shine Camera Club, following a lovely meeting with the young photographers at Wimbledon."
